about

The Lillium flower genus represents a reclaiming and rebirth of the creative feminine. The creation and development of these songs have been, without a doubt, a journey.

Track Name: Queen
My arms are open wide
Why don’t you come inside
Because you make me feel like a Queen
You make me like a Queen

I’m tired, I am broke
I’m the butt of this very funny joke
But you won’t let me fall to my knees
No you won’t let me fall to my knees

My winter’s cold and it is long
I’m an empty shell walkin ‘round, humming a song
While you out in the cold
While you out in the cold

But summer’s here and I am free
Don’t really know what’s to become of me
Distract me while I am here
Distract me while I am here

Because…..

My arms are open wide
Why don’t you come inside
Because you make me feel like a Queen
You make me feel like a Queen
Track Name: 8
I’ll tell them
I was raised by wolves
I’ll tell them
How they ate my heart and kept some in a jar
And they used my bones to pick their teeth
And they drank their wine and lived on grief
And I buried myself
So I wouldn't die

I’ll tell them
When I was in my grave
I’ll tell them
How I sang so sweet but made no noise
And I didn't write, because, what was the choice?
And the drums above my head
Would loosen stones

I've seen my trials
I've seen my death
And a well-oiled machine
Is burning through the night
In my dreams
Burning through the night
In my dreams
You only need a small reason
To Be

I’ll tell them
What they want to hear
I’ll tell them
Of bubbling glasses; of silk and cream
Of all the money to live out your dreams
I’ll tell them
I’ll tell them
I’ll tell them

I've seen my trial
I've seen my death
And a well-oiled machine
Is burning through the night
In my dreams
Burning through the night
In my dreams

Just give me a reason
Give me a reason
I have a reason
To Be
Track Name: Slumber
From me
You can expect
The unexpected
Desperate for love
For contact
Can you feel me reach?

The action
The lights
To be all aglow
And all signs tell me
They tell me
Tell me
I am a different breed

All your assumptions
Your judgments
A blockage
Chop Chop
Cut my heart in two

I am awake
And I am in my place
I won’t take
My choice
My choice
My choice
The slumber’s run its course

From you
I would expect
A new tradition
Open arms
After all
Ain't that family?

Out of the darkness
The negative
Against all odds
To make something beautiful

I am awake
I am in my place
I won’t take
My choice
My choice
My choice
The slumber’s run its course
Track Name: Chicago
I think I’m moving to Chicago
I hear the winters there are mighty cold
But I don’t care; I stole your sweater
I’ll build a fire before I play in the snow
Because everything here isn't fine
Everything here’s been gentrified and hipstafied
Forty dollar thrift store shirts; condos and order
Everything costs a buck and nothing’s good with our love
I don’t think I can hang on
Hang on

I realize the potential in us that you don’t see
Partner in crime, here we go again
So shame on me
I can’t find the door
So I’ll leave quiet through the floor boards
You do you
And I’ll do me
You do you
And I’ll do me

I think I’m moving down to Nashville
Hitch up my crazy dog and put him in the car
He’s gonna pant and whine
He’s gonnna bark at other drivers
He’s gonna drool on my arm, and I’ll think
Where have I gone wrong?
But at least he’s good to me, at least he’s faithful
And he knows wherever I am
That’s home
That’s home

I let go of this great idea because
You don’t see
Partner in crime, here we go again
So shame on me
I know I broke your heart
So you’re breaking mine
And all I can say is, why this time?
Why this time?

So I think I’ll move to San Francisco
New York is far too gray
I need Technicolor
I’m gonna shave my head
Find a girlfriend
Plant a garden and learn to paint
I want to make a new dream and I want to see it through
And if you look back you’ll see that’s all I’ve asked of you
That’s all I've asked
That’s all I've asked
That’s all I've asked

I see so much potential in us
Tell me, do you see?
Partner in crime, here we go again
So shame on me
I might not know this story
But I’ll walk the page
As I’m dreaming
Dream of better days
Dreaming, dream of better days
As I’m dreaming
Dream of better days
Track Name: Lillian Pink
I think I’m going to change my name to Lillian Pink
And when I find my love lost at sea
I will lay down
I will lay down

While you wait
While you wait

You say you can’t find another who’s as good as me
Look at you spoiled, your hands folded, foiled
All your plans in the line of me

While you wait
While you wait

So close
Yet so far away
But there’s some sun, is what you say

While I wait
While I wait

Anything I want is at my fingertips
If anything and everything
Created equally and fine

Anything I want is at my fingertips
If anything and everything
Created equally and fine

While I wait
While I wait
Track Name: The Long Walk Home
I am flower
That grew up from the pavement
Some type of anomaly, still you don’t see the beauty in me
Life is a poem
Your words are the prose
You've gotta pick your players and craft your lines
And try to walk a million miles
With some holes in your shoes

I don’t think you’re on the same road as me
But I've got a map and a key
And I’ll begin my…
Long Walk Home

I am a poet
Alone on my lonely isle
I pick my players and craft my lines
Still I can’t seem to find my kind
With these holes in my shoes
Time is my distance
Humbled from where I ran
And if I was a better woman
If I was a better man
I would know it’s not about shoes

So if you feel like you’re falling down
I've been that way and I've come around
I begin my…
Long Walk Home

All this time what have I been searching for?
All this time
All this time I've been searching for Love
Love
Love
Love
Love

I know I don’t know you
But I've always known your name
And if I could take your worry
If I could take all your pain
I would stand in your shoes
I would stand in your shoes
I would stand in your shoes
I would stand

I am a flower
Time is my distance
Life is a poem
Love
Love
Love
Love
Love
Track Name: Neg.
I am representing everything I've ever learned
And deep down under my skin
Deep inside, from within
That disease hasn't conquered me

Away from me
Away from me
Away from me
Away from me
Negativity

Like a babe afraid, I’m looking for comfort
In my mother, in my sisters
But these days
I find, I am my own
And everything’s wrapped up in you
My lover, my friend
My lover, my lover
Part from me not
Always with me stay

Away from me
Away from me
Away from me
Away from me
Negativity

It’s a tired conversation
Endless questions filled with doubt
A stifled scream, I can’t find my way out
Of the piece, you never gave me mine to say
And I was quiet all those years
Never got in your way
So now your ignorance is lost in bliss
Swooping in to feel my kiss
And hear my stories, so long as, they are brief

A colder heart would say goodbye
Instead I’ve chose to pacify
And build my world around a lie that eats at my brain

Away
Away
Away
Away

Away from me
Away from me
Away from me
Away
Away
Away
